http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/driveway-accidents-fatal-for-kids-20110804-1idnw.html

Posted in the Brisbane Times - Friday August 5, 2011
It seems unbelieveable that a parent can back over their child when leaving their driveway, but apparently its more common then one would have thought.
  • Three children are accidentally run over each week by a vehicle in Queensland.
  • Each year four children, on average, do not survive the accident, according to new research, released today.

LECTURE TWO

ROD CHESTER

Rod Chester -> Courier Mail. Rod Chester illustrated the good news and the 'hard' news, scaled through many insightful stories relating to 'how to get a person to read your story'. He explained and evaluated the need for the Inverted Pyramid, the necessity to be concise and informative.

LECTURE ONE

Lecture One introduced me to Dr Bruce Redman, who expressed journalism as
  1. Organised gossip;
  2. The first rough draft of history; and the idealology that,
  3. Journalism can never be silent.... its greatest virtue and its greatest fault.

ME

Im Sarah, a UQ Bachelor of Arts student with a hope to pursue Occupational Therapy in the coming year. Journalism has presented itself, so far, to be a worthwhile and engaging course and I am thoroughly enjoying it.
